Originally designed with curved swords in mind, we designed this display to best showcase your straight or curved sabers in the best ways possible- up on the wall for all to see. The pegs on each variation are set to hang either straight sabers or common curved swords in a balanced way that accents the blade perfectly. Choose between our three current options to display your Saber: Military Dress Saber, Straight Saber, Curved Saber, and our 1796 Specific options, details of which are below. We also offer this display in our most popular stain color options, Red Mahogany and Ebony stain. Each display comes with all the necessary hardware to mount your display, including three screws, drywall anchors, as well as plugs to match your display. Simple and easy to follow instructions are also included for your convenience.
The Military Dress Saber is the quintessential adornment used to distinguish officers throughout time, and is often a symbol of a well earned military career. This display type is designed specifically for the modern Military Dress Saber, with a 1.375" peg spacing to accommodate most dress sabers with or without the scabbard, and 3" long pegs. We based our measurements for this option specifically off of the U.S. Marine Corps Military Saber depicted, which was generously loaned to us by a friend.
Our Straight Saber option is our general option for staight sabers with 3 bar hilts and similar encompassing guards. This option comes with with 3" pegs to cover most complex guards that come on modern military sabers, small swords, heavy cavalry Sabers, and other similar straight blades, with the pegs spaced to 2.25" apart to accommodate most sabers with their scabbard. Bare blade variants can be made upon request.
Our Curved Saber option is our general option for curved blade sabers found in various light cavalry sabers, U.S. Civil war sabers, various Polish sabers and the like, with a 1"-3" curve in the blade. With this option we specifically offset the pegs to a certain degree that allows for the sword to hang balanced with the curved blade. With 3" pegs this option will cover most complex guards and 3 bar hilted sabers and similar encompassing guards found. The pegs on this option are also spaced 2.25" to accommodate both the sword and scabbard while hung, although a bare blade option can be made upon request.
Based off of the popular 1796 light cavalry saber, we have sized the 1796 Specific option to cover this curved sword as well as other poplar curved swords with simpler D shaped knuckle guards for a smaller overall profile on the wall. With shorter 1.5" pegs, this option also comes with the pegs offset to balance the elegant curve of this classic saber in an aesthetically pleasing way. The pegs on this option are also spaced at 2.25" for display with a scabbard, but smaller options for bare bladed display can be made upon request.

A note on the Curved Saber and 1796 Specific options: This style of display is designed with the pegs offset from each other at approximately half an inch to get a large majority of curved sabers to hang as staight as possible. Sabers in particular can vary quite a bit in the amount of curve and therefore we can only guarantee the consistency of our own product, and not necessarily the how centered your individual blade will be. If your sword has an extreme curve, feel free to contact us if you want something custom. (anything larger than a 3" measured curve) All of our standard options are designed for right handed guards and right handed display (see photos for reference)- contact us if you need a display for a left handed guard or display.
A note on Military Dress Sabers and Straight Sabers: Although we have checked this product's specs against a variety of modern Military Sabers, we felt it best to not to order a wide variety military officers swords only for product images here as we are merely a couple of civilians, and have relied on the generosity of friends who have the swords utilized for appropriate reasons. If you want to check any measurements or need something custom for your specific military saber, please reach out.

Warning: Wooden items including wooden swords, wands, and other items can be dangerous if used improperly. Weapons should be used under the supervision of a trained martial artist. Broken items should never be used in practice or play, and should be replaced immediately as broken items can cause severe injury.

We have had no reported major injuries with our wooden weapons or wands, and we take extra precautions to insure that our products are designed in such a way to prevent injury. Bruising has occurred when products were used improperly, but larger injuries are possible since the wood swords and wands can be easily misused. Adult supervision is highly recommended at all times as well as supervision with a martial artist when items are used for contact sport or play. But if used properly, our products are very safe, and very fun. :)
Yes, to the very best of our knowledge. We use 100% wood of different kinds for our wands. For example, if we say the wand is an Oak wand, it is made from Oak wood. Our wooden swords are made from pine unless otherwise specified.
We were having some issues with inconsistent results while using our Walnut Stain recently, so we have made the decision to no longer keep Walnut Stain as a standard option for our displays. If you want a walnut stained display, please contact us and we will set it up as a custom order for the same price as our other displays, that way we can monitor the quality more directly and give you the best quality product available. We will also be releasing limited quantities of displays made out of Walnut wood (not stained) here shortly, so keep an eye out for that!
Yes! We make custom size displays all the time! You actually help us out quite a bit by letting us know what's missing from or display options. We usually charge the same price for custom displays as all of our standard options. Be sure to check all of our different variations before asking, as we have quite a few, but we are more than happy to help!
Nothing is wrong with your computer or Etsy- what typically is happening is we are almost sold out of the color option you wanted. We do try to keep up with demand, but other responsibilities sometimes take precedent. We will typically have other displays of the same type but a different color in stock, and is why there is a discrepancy. If you run into this issue, please contact us with what size and color of display you needed, and we will prioritize making those as soon as we can.
