Our Rapier Specific Vertical Sword Wall Display plaque is the perfect place to hang your favorite sword! We are now offering two separate designs based off of multiple types of rapier!
The first, Type I, is designed to fit most rapiers, specifically with a more open swept hilt design. This is our original rapier display design, and is the one everyone who buys it has come to love. Unlike our standard display used for longswords and similar types, this display uses a system of 5 pegs to display a rapier both easily and safely, the specifications for which will be listed below. This wall display not only fits most practice rapiers comfortably for HEMA or SCA enthusiasts, and should also fit Olympic fencing equipment, as well as antiques.
Type II is our latest design, to address the shortcomings our original design had with Spanish style rapiers, transitional and paupenheimer style hilts, and other more complex hilt designs. This display uses a three peg system, but also features wider spacing as standard to fit those larger antique blades. This display type is perfect for those rapiers with those more advanced features, or if you simply are unsure if your rapier will quite fit the other display. In short this display is designed to be an elegant solution to the best of conundrums, a place to hang a sword with almost too elegant of hand protection.
Both display types are an excellent way to hang your favorite sword on the wall, designed to accent to the swords' displayed in shape and form. We are also now offering this display made out of 100% Walnut wood and finished with high grade mineral oil for a limited time! Because of the cost of the premium walnut wood, this option does cost more than the standard pricing and can be chosen in the stain options at checkout.
The following is an explanation on elements of the design as well as specifications. If there are any questions on sizing and fit, please contact us here on Etsy, or via email.
Type I: The first set of pegs are what the rapier rests on, and are 1.25" apart for a close fit on the typical rapier blade. These pegs extend 4" from the plaque, long enough to reach the cross section of the quillions and the blade. The second pair of pegs assist with keeping the sword in place, well beneath the guard. Measuring 3.5" from the plaque, with 1" spacing between, these pegs keep the blade vertical and safe in case the balance on the other pegs are not correct. The last peg sits center, a 2" additional spacer to keep the sword from hitting or damaging the wall.
Type II: The pegs on this display are placed lower as it is the hilt that the sword will rest on. The main pegs are spaced approximately 1.375" apart, with the pegs extending from the back piece approximately 4". The third peg is the center peg, designed for the same purpose as mentioned previously, as a spacer to keep the blade from hitting the wall, and measures approximately 2" from the display.
Both types of display come with 3 screws, 3 drywall anchors, and 3 plugs to make everything look nice, as well as some basic instructions. Plaque dimensions are 10" long, 5.5" wide, and approximately 5" deep. As with all of our wood products, there will be variations from what is specifically shown above with wood grain.
Some newer models of rapier that we've been seeing lately with larger baskets do need longer pegs! Double check the measurements on your sword and if you need longer pegs, just ask and we'll make you a custom display at no additional cost to you!

We have had no reported major injuries with our wooden weapons or wands, and we take extra precautions to insure that our products are designed in such a way to prevent injury. Bruising has occurred when products were used improperly, but larger injuries are possible since the wood swords and wands can be easily misused. Adult supervision is highly recommended at all times as well as supervision with a martial artist when items are used for contact sport or play. But if used properly, our products are very safe, and very fun. :)
Yes, to the very best of our knowledge. We use 100% wood of different kinds for our wands. For example, if we say the wand is an Oak wand, it is made from Oak wood. Our wooden swords are made from pine unless otherwise specified.
We were having some issues with inconsistent results while using our Walnut Stain recently, so we have made the decision to no longer keep Walnut Stain as a standard option for our displays. If you want a walnut stained display, please contact us and we will set it up as a custom order for the same price as our other displays, that way we can monitor the quality more directly and give you the best quality product available. We will also be releasing limited quantities of displays made out of Walnut wood (not stained) here shortly, so keep an eye out for that!
Yes! We make custom size displays all the time! You actually help us out quite a bit by letting us know what's missing from or display options. We usually charge the same price for custom displays as all of our standard options. Be sure to check all of our different variations before asking, as we have quite a few, but we are more than happy to help!
Nothing is wrong with your computer or Etsy- what typically is happening is we are almost sold out of the color option you wanted. We do try to keep up with demand, but other responsibilities sometimes take precedent. We will typically have other displays of the same type but a different color in stock, and is why there is a discrepancy. If you run into this issue, please contact us with what size and color of display you needed, and we will prioritize making those as soon as we can.

Best rapier display I've come across. My sword has a handle that is circular all the way around. The seller was able to custom make one for my swords' specifications. Amazing customer service, fast shipping. Love it
